A great build.

I am new to the Vortek line of knives. In the past month, I have purchased 4 to test in my rotation of EDC knives. Honestly, I was not expecting much at this price point. But when my knives started arriving, I was very surprised. The quality of the four knives I received was outstanding. I would love to see their website give more information on the developmental build of the knives they sell. Now for the review.
Vortek Kronos in Blue and Gold:
I received my order three days ago. The shipping from the vendor was a bit slow from WV to IN; however, I think that had to do with the third-party payment process; I will follow up with a direct purchase from Vortek (if they have it).
I absolutely love the size and feel of the knife. It is on the bigger side, but as a big man with bug hands, it feels great in the pocket and the hand. The pocket clip holds the knife securely to the pants. The pull from the pocket is smooth. The deployment of the blade is effortless. Very smooth.
The quality is outstanding. The knife had no visible defects under the magnifier. When the blade is open, the locking mechanism is centered perfectly on the blade as it should be. Impressive. When the blade is in the closed position, it is perfectly centered in the housing of the knife. Impressive. It almost leads me to believe that it was hand fitted (that would be hard to believe at this price point).
The only con I have is with the clip. it is well designed and works perfectly; however, it's gold, it carries knives as part of my LE uniform, and the gold clip sticks out. As with the other VorteK knives I bought, I used a Sharpie to color the clips black so that it blends with my uniform pants.
As a collector of EDC knives, I must say check these out. They are not going to stay at this price point long. Great quality.
